Le Petit Nice - Avignon

We were trying to be healthy and take a break from the pizzas and such while on vacation. We each ordered a salad to get some vegetables back into our diet which are hard to get on a regular basis eating in restaurants and cafes.The salads were not good. The salad pieces were brownish and the preparation left it tasting bitter. The chicken on the chicken ceasar was cooked badly - deep fried perhaps - and they even put fish on it, which is unwelcome if you don't like fish. That was my wife's meal. Mine had salmon which was fine but the salad part as well seemed like it was made from the reject pieces. Lastly, the table bread was stale. I looked over at another table and noticed they all had burgers and fries which appeared ok. Two children were eating the table-bread that appeared to be less stale than ours. So based on what you're ordering you might be happy there.The salads were pretty bad though. I thought I'd be ok going random in a classy place like Avignon but I'll certainly check my TripAdvisor next time and head to a specific place rather than just wandering around looking for something.

Will I never learn. Do not eat in Place de L Horloge. Pushy barkers to get you in then poor quality food and wine at excessive prices. There are just so many better value places to eat just about anywhere in Avignon away from this square

Very centrally located on Place de l Horloge. Friendly and customs orientated staff. Food is good, moules were extremely fresh, prices affordable. Sit outside on the sun, relax and watch people passing by. Nice restaurant, they have my vote!

We were sceptical of trying this place due to its location in the main square and thought it might be a tourist trap. However we were pleasantly surprised to find it was value for money, offering decent food at decent pricing. We had a pizza and the mussels, not bad at all.

Under no circumstances visit this awful place. We went in December 2016 and found their dog running around including the kitchen andwe thought that was bad but on going to the toilet found dog poo on the stairs and when confronting the owner's they laughed and said it was only a puppy. This place is a serious health hazard and should be closed down.
