La Tolteca - Azusa

The chips and salsa are what I'd come for. If my friends had parties, someone would make the trip here to buy the chips and salsa to serve. We don't do Tostitos and Pace Picante. When I was young, many have spent a nice Sat or Sun afternoon here to wash our chips and salsa and wash it with a pitcher beer. I would order a Chicken Tostada Compuesta, but we were really here for chips and beer. It's a light chip. I actually prefer a heavier chip, but good chips and salsa are hard to get. It's not a sweet or beautiful place. It can be loud and echo and bright. You stand in the line when you first go in. If you come to the counter, make your order and look for a table. It is your typical mum pop Mexican-American fast food loaded with American cheddar. It's a simple no frying menu. I would also buy my Masa here if I made Tamale.

I called on my order for six fools. They said they were ready in fifteen minutes. When I wait another 45 minutes. When I came home and opened two, they were small and the Masa was hard. If I want to warm one later, it'll be like a rock. My first and last visit... I'll never go back... By the way, I paid $13,75 for six times. If they had been good... no problem... never!!

I love this place... taquitos r easy to do, but there are the best I've ever had... I don't know what it is, but I wish I knew so that I could make mine so, just reason that I didn't give them five star ratings is cuz I ordered them once before the time on the phone with the guacamole... I came at the time they had been ready... waited 15 minutes there for them... and then five minutes before I got my food, they said they had no guacamole... no apology... no refund very rude, but what could... I will not yell at the people who make my food

I know I'm back to Azuzs when I see the sign!!! I used to eat here weekly and have always found it to be a delicious clamp of this little town! Nothing beats the feeling of hunger at lunch with relief from a number of taquitos! The chili rellenos and carne asada is DELISH!!!

Best Chips and Salsa in California. Great wet burritos and Carne Asda plates. Hard shell tacos are huge and delicious are to die for. Large ice cold beers are the best. Menudo on the weekends, and you have to check out the new bar, it's absolutely beautiful and roomy. Large big screen tv's throughout the bar and restaurant area for all your sporting needs. Great job Tolteca
