The Swan Inn - Babergh

The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious, with generous portions and outstanding service from the bar and restaurant staff. It is also very family-friendly and accommodating to our needs.

We have been to this pub a few times now and have always had a strange experience. There have been instances where we couldn't eat, or the white wine was cold but they insisted it wasn't. We once arrived after checking the opening hours online only to find the pub closed, even though the sign outside said it was open. Another time we called ahead to confirm it was open, only to discover upon arrival that there was a wedding taking place and we could only access one room in the pub, with the garden closed. This was not ideal, especially since we had children with us. When we mentioned our concerns to the staff, they claimed they had informed us in advance, but we did not recall being told. As a result, we are unlikely to return to this pub in the future. It appears that others have had a positive experience based on the good reviews, so maybe it's just us.

This pub garden is one of the best in the area, a must-visit on a sunny day. The food was excellent and the service was great. I would highly recommend it.

What a fantastic place, I have been introduced to The Swan by my best buddy Clive, what a great pub, food is so yummy yum yum, best meals out I have had for a long time. Its also the atmosphere that makes it a worth while visit, everyone is so friendly, Liz is fantastic. A worth while visit if passing or to make a special journey out to, you must go!

We ate here on a Saturday night. Service and food was very good (although two jalapeño cheese poppers as a starter was a bit stingy) Beers were ok … would have liked a few more on draft but a nice evening. Lovely garden and some nice events planned too. Opening hours and capacity were very odd … didn’t open until 3pm on a Saturday and although restaurant was only half full at 7:30pm sign said it was full … I think you could be doing a lot more business !
