My wife and I tried to get in on a Sunday evening, early, but not a chance. The brushoff was kind of brusk, which is why I am only giving stars. But there is a reason why you need a reservation, the food and...service are really good. This time we made reservations for early on a Saturday evening. And, yes, they turned away a lot of people without reservations. We went to the restaurant hungry and could not possibly finish all the food presented. Just full disclosure. German portions than Greek. We started with tzatziki, just since we had not had fresh fzatziki in a long time, and it did not disappoint. I may never be able to eat premade fzatziki again. The bread was really good too, hot and fresh. My wife ordered a broccoli appetizer, which was good, but it is hard to screw up broccoli. I ordered the cream of tomato soup, which was amazing, although the promised cream was not present. I could have stopped at this point. My wife ordered 'three small pork steaks'. They were not small. Not sure what the sides were, she ate them before I had a chance to sample. The chops were not as tender as we have had, but good nonetheless. I ordered the Helenateller, Giros, ein Suflaki und ein Suzukiyros, I really had no idea what I was ordering, but everything was excellent. Came with tomato rice and fries, both very good. I wish I could have eaten more, but we took the rest home, so there is always tomorrow. Service was prompt and efficient, perhaps a bit understaffed. To my understanding, there arewere only two other Greek restaurants in town, and one has closed or is undergoing renovations, so this is an excellent choice. We had a good experience at Ambrosia as well, but Platon is not currently in business. The quantity of food for the price is a great value. Highly recommended. As long as you call ahead for a reservation

Hearthy meal with soul and substance. Homemade soups for a rainy day and genuine greek souvlaki, gyros, pitas and tzaziki. Lovely and heartwarm hosts and a warm atmosphere. Better greek food is rarely seen outside of Greece. High recommendations!
We were on holiday in Bad Harzburg at the end of August and, on turning up at only 6pm, we were lucky to get one of the last tables, as most were already booked. There were plenty of tables outside - so not such a problem for lunches - but it would be advisable to book for an evening meal, if during the tourist season/holidays.The menu was extensive, with lots of choice for both meat eaters and vegetarians. There were plenty of authentic dishes to choose from too - such as moussaka, pastichio, souvlakia, gyros, kalamari, etc.Portion sizes were large and we probably wouldn't bother with a starter if we came again. For main courses I had the moussaka and my husband had one of the meat platters. Both were obviously freshly cooked, tasty and very good. There was a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere and the restaurant was nicely decorated inside. Staff were friendly. We were offered an Ouzo at the end, but declined as it's not something I enjoy. We were pleasantly surprised to be offered an Expresso instead, on the house, which we thought was a lovely gesture. We tried to go back again shortly before returning home, but were disappointed to find that we had left it too late and the restaurant had closed for its holiday. We'd highly recommend the Kreta and encourage you to give it a try.
