The place is homey, if a little dated-looking, decorated with orchids at various stages of decomposition and bad paintings. It was eerily quiet even when the entire restaurant was full, the only music was coming from the kitchen. A cute cat sleeping by the door welcomes the guests. We were seated immediately and our young son was given some crayons and paper, which was very nice since we were a bit trepidatious about bringing him into a fine dining restaurant (even though he is quite used to the experience and can usually keep himself busy). Things started going south after this point; our waiter was visibly upset that we did not speak German, and seemed offended when we asked if they had a menu in English (which is very common in tourist destinations in Austria). We are experienced travelers and can use google translate to navigate a menu, and that is exactly what we started to do. After about or minutes our waiter was exasperated that we still had not made up our minds (we had already ordered aperitifs by this point). A little while later, as we decided to go ahead and order some items that looked good, another waiter came by and started to explain the menu to us in English. She was very helpful, but she also ended up getting scolded by the other waiter in front of us for her efforts. Things had become so uncomfortable at this point that we politely asked our waiter whether we could just pay for our aperitifs and leave. She dealt with the situation with professionalism and convinced us to stay. I am glad we did because the food was delicious and very good value for what it was. Despite this, I doubt I would ever want to go back to this place. They do seem to have a reliable clientele of locals though, so they probably feel they can afford to lose the traffic from uncouth travelers like us. Still, it is a shame for a business that could otherwise become a destination restaurant.
Very Moody staff. But the food was okay. The restaurant is opened on thursday till monday from till

They do seem to have a reliable clientele of locals though, so they probably feel they can afford to lose the traffic from uncouth travelers (!) like us. Still, it is a shame for a business that could otherwise become a destination restaurant.

The restaurant is for sale and this is noticable. Quality is still good but i am missing the spirit. Menu has not changed for years and could be better.
