I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bambarakanda Falls, and it left me awe-inspired and rejuvenated. This magnificent waterfall is a true gem nestled in the heart of nature. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the sheer beauty of the surroundings. The waterfall itself is a sight to behold. The water cascades down from a great height, creating a mesmerizing display of power and elegance. The sound of the rushing water is both soothing and invigorating, instantly transporting you to a state of tranquility. The surrounding landscape is lush and green, adding to the overall charm of the place. There are well-maintained walking trails that allow you to explore the area and get closer to the falls. The hike is relatively easy and offers breathtaking views at every turn. One of the things I appreciated most about Bambarakanda Falls is the sense of serenity it offers. Despite being a popular tourist destination, it manages to maintain a peaceful and uncrowded atmosphere. It's the perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and connect with nature. The amenities provided at the site are also commendable. There are clean restroom facilities and a small café where you can grab a snack or refreshments. The staff members are friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant experience for visitors. I highly recommend visiting Bambarakanda Falls to anyone seeking a dose of natural beauty and tranquility. It's a place that will leave you in awe of Mother Nature's wonders. Don't forget to bring your camera, as the photo opportunities are simply breathtaking. Good environment. had a bath as well. but less water even this is the tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka. cool and fresh water there. absolutely enjoyable.
Highest waterfall in SriLanka. The access road is very narrow and dilapidated. Very dangerous to go in that road in a bus or large van. Can manage with a small car but can get hit on a lower chassis a bit. Ok for motorcycles and off road vehicles. It's an amazing site. Entry ticket is Rs 50 for local adults and Rs 350 foreigners. Small hike up to the falls. Alot of trash and litter along the way despite bins located along the path. Please do not trash the place. There are few wash rooms on the way and near the falls. Local shops selling tea and pol roti found near the parking lot.
• Actually a must see, Bambarakanda falls is the tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka and also it ranks as the 461st highest waterfall in the world. •Bambarakanda Falls is located in Kalupahana in the Badulla District. •You should buy a ticket before going in and then follow up along the road through beautiful pine trees to the view point.
