Anitas Mexican Grill - Bakersfield

Nothing very fancy here but the food and service are great. After a couple of visits, this place has shown that the courteous, helpful service staff is really top notch. As I've said in other reviews, I don't consider myself particularly knowledgeable about Mexican cuisine but among local Mexican restaurants I consider Valentina's a genuine standout. The food seems closer to home made than most, the chips and salsa are both very good and plentiful, and the bar drinks are both good and reasonably priced. Whether you just stop for dinner or make a night out by having dinner here and walking to the movie theater a couple of doors down, I like Valentina's a lot.

The food is on point every time. We love their weekend buffet and during the week their food is always amazing. The staff is very welcoming and inviting. It's great for kids and has a nice variety. We go about once a month and are never disappointed!

I've been here several times because they have Pupusas. Usually the food is good. Maybe not great but average. This time I ordered the Pupusas, one pork and one beans. This was the first time I tried the pork and it was a little dry and I didn't really like the flavor. I usually get the bean cheese Pupusas because I like them but this time when I took a bite of the bean one it tasted funny. Took a second bite and definitely tasted mold. I opened it up and didn't see anything but the flavor was definitely there. There is no excuse acceptable to sell moldy food! My companion had one pork and one cheese Pupusas and they said theirs tasted fine. Every time I've come here, I've experience slow service. The servers are friendly but not attentive, especially considering every time I've gone there's only been a handful of other customers. I've given this place it's last chance moldy food is the tie breaker and I won't be back.

This place needs to update their windows or actually serve what they're pitching. Group of us showed up for the lunch buffet and they said they don't offer that during the week.

We went for the lunch buffet, it opened a bit early there was no wait for food all the entrees and sides were ready and hot. Servers were attentive and friendly. Selection was was good. Only thing that wasn't too great was the potatoes they weren't cooked all the way, other than that no complaints very clean and lots of room price wasn't bad either.
