Sequoia Sandwich Co - Bakersfield

Whoever makes the sandwiches, great work! But the staff who have ordered for the guests the food they have ordered online To Go have some serious training to do. The line to pick up was long and they just ran around to do other things that no one in line or handing any orders 0 so I never knew if they would help us soon or if I had to be THAT person to stop them in their tracks and ask them to just HAND ME the bag on their shopping cart... please at least communicate with your guests... I'm less angry if I know they're coming to me in a minute or 5 minutes and not just acting like there's no one.

The new owners have destroyed what was the best sandwich shop in the city. Extremely bad service, the cheap on the ingredients, but still premium prices, the restaurant is always dirty and the counter staff is clearly not trained on every aspect of their work. The original owners should be ashamed that they are sold to the incompetent clowns they now own. Goodbye Sequoia, I love you once.

I decided to give Sequoia Sandwich another attempt today as it had been a few months that I stopped going due to many employee errors (Incorrect Bread Type, Missing Condiments, Missing Desserts) I ordered from their website today: check the TWICE THE MEAT Sandwich list and ordered the Turkey Club: I always order the Club Deluxe, so I wanted to see what the difference would really be. I never felt like me after I opened the Twice The Meat Sandwich. This was basically a Club Deluxe with an additional bread in the middle. There was absolutely no extra meat. If you look at the photos I added. Only 2.5 slices of Turkey were added to the lower bungalow with 1 slice of cheese. The only thing that did the extra bread was the separation of salad, tomatoes and bacon from turkey to make this look bigger. I removed the middle bread and ate the sandwich as Club Deluxe. I felt saddened for the price for this TWICE THE MEAT $19.

They have been a long customer and love the food, but the latest customer service experience in Rosedale Hwy site was bad. 3 of 4 sandwiches were made incorrect for our order. Returning to the store one hour after our pickup and the supervisors said that they could not repair the order because we did not call immediately (Brylee and Raymond), they offered a dessert for the inconvenience for the order that was over $50. We just wanted the right sandwiches. They gave us the cell for manager Wendi, who then said she would send us gift cards for the order, but never. Again followed with Wendi and now she says that her district manager is responsible for sending the gift cards (not nearly 3 weeks later). The total customer service at this point has gone into the hills since the change in ownership.

Flavor wise, I love the flavor of their sandwiches, yet, they could make it a lot better in the presentation and the care they put into making them, meaning, they verily put any mayo/dressing on the bread, the presentation of the sandwich loooked like they just throw it together in a hurry. Customer service wise, it is embarrassing. The cashier was rushing through the order, questions to her were answered as it was a bother to her and like she had no time to answer, even though there were no other customers waiting. Not only that, but continuously looking at her cellphone while we were ordering. Never offer any items to go with the meal, it was always is that all, is that all . As soon as we paid, she resumed to her cellphone activity right in front of everyone. Another staff member, chewing gum in the front, mouth wide open, customers waiting to ask her for items to out their food to go while she is busy talking to the cashier that was on her cellphone. Both laughing, having a good time while customers wait. I definitely enjoy the flavor of a good sandwich like sequoia 's, but for the price, the laziness and carelessness of the staff, I rather make one at home.
