It's a shame they no longer serve the usual side of chocolate like they used to. When I visited, they didn't offer it. The hot chocolate is good, although a bit watered down, but still enjoyable. Some of the staff are friendly, but I understand why some people may find one person who doesn't smile and stares while taking orders off-putting. Personally, it doesn't bother me. The bacon in the B.L.T is a bit tough and fatty, tasting like it has been sitting for a while. Despite this, I still really like it. Overall, it's a nice café with delicious sandwiches.
The majority of the staff were friendly, but we had a negative experience with the Manager. We mentioned that our tea was cold, and instead of handling the situation discreetly, she loudly pointed out that it was our fault for sitting there for 20 minutes. We explained that we were topping up the tea to keep it warm, not looking for a free replacement. Despite this, she only added boiling water to our teapot without fresh teabags, which made the tea taste horrible. This public embarrassment was unnecessary. We have been loyal customers since O'Briens Balbriggan opened, but this incident has made us reconsider returning. Additionally, while we were there, we witnessed someone else returning food as well.
The restaurant is clean and tidy, with delicious fresh food. I enjoy sitting near the large window, taking in the view and using the internet.
