For example the pork knuckle roast was superb. As we were a family we only had a main so I cannot comment on deserts. If you like red cabbage you will love this place. It is apparently moving to Dee Why so currently it is only open on Friday and Saturday, but still worth a visit. By the way they have a good range of German beers.
A local favourite, food is authentic Austrian, atmosphere is cosy, beers on tap and plenty of schnapps! Always love the service and menu always excites!
Our meals of schnitzels were almost tasteless and most definitely needed the cranberry sauce to give them any flavour. The sole accompaniment - a tiny bowl of "potato salad" - was a gluggy mess of scraps of overcooked potato in an insipid watery soup, with no sign of onion or mayonnaise. The dishes were nothing like the authentic and traditional dishes which we have enjoyed in Austria, which this restaurant seeks to replicate. Our companions were generally unimpressed with their similarly bland and very small serve of beef stroganoff (more rice than stroganoff) and a mixed plate of meats - pork belly, pork knuckle and sausages. The strudels for dessert were passable but hardly memorable. The service was friendly and reasonably satisfactory, although the waitress needed to be asked twice for water for the table.
If the beer hadn't been good on tap I would struggle to give this joint a 1. The rudest owner, we waited 20 mins as he had stack booked us. A dishes were like they had been heated from a few days before. I love German and Austrian food but those used to the real deal, sadly this is a disappointment.
Great meal last night for my birthday. Pork knuckle and pork belly were excellent and all else was enjoyed. Great friendly service. Highly recommend.
