The Flying Horse Bistro - Ballarat

I recently visited the Flying Horse for the first time since 2017 and was impressed by the extensive renovation that has taken place. The decor is now bright with a color scheme of white, brown, and sage green. The menu offers typical pub-style dishes, but the food quality was excellent. My 4-year-old particularly enjoyed the indoor play area. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Why are most older staff at this venue so surly, unpleasant and dismissive especially, but not only, towards people playing the pokies later in the evening? Are the staff properly trained? Do they not understand that patrons are paying their wages? Whoever is in charge of this place should insist that bar and associated staff at least make an effort to be friendly and welcoming.

Food was awesome but staff SUX my two friends can't not eat a adult meal for medical reasons so they ordered kids meals and some of the staff had a go at them saying kids meals were for children only n when we tried to explain why they had ordered kids meals they were dismissed n more or less called liars so we finished our meals n left... We will not be going back there again... Unsatisfied customer

Don’t bother going here ,very poor service ,, below average food for what you pay, And staff can’t even get your order correct, won’t be back.toilets very unclean.

On the plus side, we were seated close to the bar. The food tasted okay, but not nearly as good as it had been previously. We are hoping that once the construction is completed, things will improve. However, in the meantime, we will be dining elsewhere.
