The Bayside - Ballina

We have dined at this restaurant many times and always enjoyed our meals. The portion sizes are generous and leave us feeling satisfied. The prices for drinks are very reasonable and the bar staff are efficient and attentive, often remembering our orders before we even have to ask. Overall, a brilliant dining experience.

We did not have a reservation and were not staying at the hotel, but after a short wait we were seated at a great table in the large bar area with the same menu. The restaurant was busy, likely due to a midweek special offer following a bank holiday. Despite the crowd, the atmosphere was pleasant and the noise level was tolerable. The menu was appealing and extensive (though somewhat standard), featuring many local ingredients. My first choice of a mixed seafood platter was not available, so I opted for a baked salmon dish instead, along with prawns and another type of fish that I can't recall. Everything was well prepared, though I could have done without the breadcrumbs. The meal was satisfying and the service was attentive. Overall, not a bad dining experience, but it's advisable to make a reservation and arrive early for the best selection.
