I decided to try the mango salad and I was so glad I did - it was spicy, sweet, and flavorful. The tofu was a bit bland, but everything else made up for it. The staff was very accommodating and they even had vegan ginger beer on tap. They also make vegan Turkish bread upon request. It's recommended to book a table on their website as they are quite busy, but the food comes out quickly. The restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious, although it can get a bit loud.
We had a surprising find on a Saturday night in Ballina. This was the only place in the city that was open after 7 p.m. where we could find vegetarian food (we arrived just 5 minutes before they closed the kitchen at 8 p.m.). The staff were knowledgeable about the vegan options on the menu and helped us order quickly. I decided to try the vegan Buddha Burger, which came with the typical dry RSL chips. The food was decent, but nothing extraordinary. The burger patty had a meat-like taste and texture, so if you enjoy that sort of thing, you would likely enjoy their food. It was clear that they have made an effort to accommodate vegetarians and vegans with a variety of choices on their menu.
During our visit to Ballina, we looked up the restaurant's menu online. They offer a nourish bowl, vegan burger, but I decided to try the plant-based fettuccine bolognese. It was incredibly delicious.
