Stewart's Shops - Ballston

The restaurant could use some improvements. One of the entrances is blocked by tractors and bulldozers due to ongoing construction, making access difficult. It appeared that the staff inside were not paying attention to the parking area. Additionally, gas prices here are quite high. Stewart's could benefit from having two more attendants at this location. On a positive note, the pumps were fast! Overall, I’d rate my experience a 4 out of 5.

I've previously complained about the coffee area having a smell reminiscent of vomit, and to my astonishment, I was told it was likely due to the trash nearby. I observed the area for 20 minutes, and nothing was done to address the issue. On my last visit, two mothers offered me baby wipes to clean off my table, as they had to use them on their own. In an effort to be proactive, I asked a newer employee if there was anything I could use to clean the table. He replied that he was busy, having just cashed out a single customer, but then stood behind the counter doing nothing as time passed.

As a local resident, I really enjoy Stewarts, but my last visit left me disappointed. Since turning 18, I've bought countless lottery tickets at this location without ever being asked for ID—up until now. Now that I'm 20 and have never been asked for identification before, I didn't bring my driver's license like usual. I went in to purchase a Powerball ticket, especially with the jackpot being so large. However, the cashier was quite unfriendly and rude; she didn’t greet me or acknowledge my presence at all. I completely understand the rules about not selling to minors and the consequences of doing so, but I would think I look older than 20, not younger. After that experience, I decided to go to the Stewarts down the road, where I was able to buy a Powerball ticket without any issues. I won’t be returning to this location again.

The service was very friendly, and the ice cream was delicious!
