Gigi's Pizza - Balmain

Pizza was delicious and definitely one of the best gf bases I’ve had. However, I asked if there were any toppings I needed to be wearing of and the waitress had no idea and after asking the chef said that all the toppings were pre packaged so they can’t guarantee there’s no gluten. I decided to take the risk and didn’t have any reactions but can’t give a coeliac safe approval since I don’t always get obvious symptoms for reference I had the prosciutto pizza. All in all great food, but 3 stars because there doesn’t seem to be much consideration for coeliacs there.

Best gluten free pizza I’ve had in Sydney! The bases were delicious, soft, crispy and warm. They have two menus a regular menu with pizza options where you can substitute for a gluten free base, or a vegan menu where you can also choose from a different variety of pizzas and can also ask for a gluten free base. The staff who served me initially lacked knowledge, as I asked about a salad (which was clearly gluten free) and he said it contained gluten (just rocket, pears and Parmesan), but I asked him to check and he came back and confirmed it was gluten free. The only gluten free options marked is the option to get a gluten free pizza base. Nothing else is marked. Better markings would help increase clarity and readiness to try other dishes. I stuck just with the pizza and gluten free bases and had no issues was the best pizza I’d ever eaten.
