My boyfriend and I went here to celebrate our anniversary and both ordered escargot for entree which is always Devine when we go there. Full of flavor and paired with nice warm fresh bread to soak up the butter and garlic sauce. I had the duck confit which I would've preferred with a bit more flavor however the flavored given were subtle and nice. I had the special dessert at the time which was a tart full of flavors and delicious, my boyfriend had the crepe Suzette which I wasn't a massive fan of as I don't like to drown my desserts however he loved it. Would recommend them to get a cocktail list. Beautiful service, will be returning
5 of us went here on a Tuesday night & it was packed that speaks for itself.Oysters natural were the best I have tasted in a long time. Everyone enjoyed their meals, eye fillet steak, boeuf bourguignon & the daily special fish. Some serves were on the small size.Desserts of cream brûlée & crepes suzette went down a treat. Can bring your own wine on Tuesday & Wednesday nights for a $10 corkage fee.Great atmosphere we will return.
We had dinner at Le Bouchon on a Friday night while away on a wedding anniversary getaway. As lovers of French food in Melbourne, where we are spoiled for choice, I have to say this was up there among the best.Great food, service and atmosphere. All the old French favourites and a few more contemporary dishes.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or visit again. Enjoy!
This is our second visit to this establishment. Not as good as i would expect. Main courses were duck (which looked amazing). Eye fillet which looked small, i had the scallops as a main course, which was smallish. $32 for 8 scallops. My husband had the beef bouginoune which he said was great. Dessert was creme brulee which was beautiful. I had chocolate fondant which was small and a little overdone. There was a tiny bit if goo in the middle. My husband had the french onion soup for dessert as it looked amazing and he is not a dessert person. He enjoyed it very much. The service was excellent. Basically its up to you, there was sone hits and misses. Personally i wouldnt go back but its very popular with the wealthy holiday home people of balnarring so try it for yourself and make up your own mind
