Sunsets At Paradise - Balsam Lake

This is probably the best place I have ever visited. The staff is extremely friendly, and there are live music performances from time to time. The food is fantastic, there are fun games to play, and overall it is a fantastic place. I absolutely love it there!

Now that they have new owners four of them)we thought we'd give it a try. I checked the menu and noticed it was small and manageable for them to put out great food. The Saturday prime rib was the special and we hung around for an hour til the dinner service started. What a joke! The dinner roll was just pulled from the refrigerator and was cold, four cold pieces of asparagus , the au jus was cold and tasteless. It's was watered down beef bullion and as for the prime rib? It was tuff,tasteless except for the overpowering taste of liquid smoke) and cold. Definitely not cut fresh off a rib roast. What a joke and waist of money. Avoid this place and go somewhere you enjoy. When we got home my wife and I took turns licking the cats litter box to get the liquid smoke taste out of our mouths.

In My earlier review I forgot to mention, NOT one server was wearing a mask inside or out! There was no sanitization process of tables or chairs inside or out! MAJOR COVID FAIL!!!!

Absolutely terrible experience at this restaurant! The food was subpar and definitely not worth the price. Our patty melt had cold, unmelted cheese and a thin, frozen patty that was much smaller than the bread. The California burger was no better, with the same frozen patty on a raw bun and missing mayo. We waited over 40 minutes for these disappointing meals. Save yourself the trouble and head to Thirsty Otter by the boat landing instead, where the food is much better. Such a disappointment!

On July 3, 2024, I am shocked that this restaurant was able to receive even one star. If zero stars were an option, I would have gladly chosen it. I had to wait for hours for my food, which arrived cold. There was no offer of compensation. Perhaps if the manager wasn't busy drinking shots at the bar, my experience would have been better.
