Charles Village Pub - Baltimore

Felt it was only right that I update my review…. This place has been pretty amazing to me every single time I come here. I had an issue one time with my service dog, the gentleman working was confused to believe service dogs come with registration, which by the way is far from truth in the US (but trust me I wish there was such a system) unfortunately it’s a scam, anyway he came back after fact checking what I stated and apologized but was super humble about it and we connected. I’m used to it, I can be a little bit of a “diva” but I give credit where it’s due.. regardless of my previous review, I continue to frequent here… and the bartenders and staff have always been pretty chill and they keep the space clean and treat everyone with attention and courtesy. They are human beings dealing with drunk human beings… I have come here to do work later at night, and while it sucks they don’t have wifi, one staff memeber explained why (college kids abusing free internet and camping) while I understand, maybe turn it on for people after a certain time and perhaps either charge a fee after a certain time length of using the service or …idk something bc i liek it here now… and I’ve order food about three times since my initial experience and I enjoy the food so… thank you for being here as my neighborhood bar and pardon me my shortness in my initial review.. but tooooo my defense, it’s rare people stop to look at signs on doors when we are rushing in to a bar from the cold or rain xo ———— Got the Baltimore club with side of curly fries and an IPA. Pros: two bartenders on a thurs night, both were friendly and ontop of pre bussing and checking on the guests. food was not bad atmosphere gives a hole in the wall vibe have a decent selection of food and drinks bartender asked me what I was looking for as far as drinks go after asking if he had Lagunitas, then gave me a few options and suggested his favorite which I ultimately chose and loved, thanks for that! tvs for watching sports although I would recommend them keeping captions on so people can read when it’s too loud to hear the tv outside seating adds a nice touch clean restrooms Cons: brawl outside of the bar, not the restaurant’s fault but makes me question coming here regularly if you look at the photos I uploaded, the Upcharges for not using cash was a surprise to me, and I don’t agree with making the patrons pay for their own cc fee charges, although I did notice that they don’t include the fee as part of the suggested tip. But this fee should be shared with people when they order food just the same as if they were to have their gratuity included in their tab, no one likes surprise charges, that are not itemized either. Upcharged of $3.50 for curly fries that were really a handful of wedges curled a bit, and were over cooked into chips. Some wouldn’t complain but I personally asked if they use thick sliced deli meat and notified them, that I prefer thin sliced BUT if they didn’t have that to please just put less meat, so that I can eat the club without having to take it apart to remove the excess, sadly I had to take some of the Turkey out so I can actually bite into it. Not a big deal but something to make note of. Overall: I would come back for drinks, and for food if I was really hungry. No complaints but nothing to rave about either. It’s a decent spot in Baltimore. This is my first time here after moving close by, update is possible in the future. Thanks anyway!

Drinks, nachos, and hot wings were great. You have to seat yourself which wasn't bad. Happy hour specials are great. Overall the food taste good. The nachos were my favorite. My waitress was great.

Dropped in to buy lunch for my son's aftwr moving some furniture. Good draft selection.

The ambiance is wonderful and locally inspired. You might feel a bit confused when you first arrive, but by the time you leave, you’ll feel like you’re part of the family.

The Original CVP is fantastic! It's a wonderful neighborhood sports bar. The chef is exceptional, and the staff are friendly and very polite. It always feels like a home away from home. They have great beer specials on game days, and the pub burgers are my favorite!
