The Thai Food Factory - Ban Talat Nua

I had the Tom Ka set and really enjoyed it. A little on the expensive side but not bad. It 's a really trendy sort of up market Thai restaurant which is nicely decorated. While the food was ok the staff were annoying or rude. Yeah yeah come on bruder was what I got from the girl stood outside of restaurant. I expect this sort of behaviour out on the street for restaurants with plastic chairs and no roof. Please and thank yous were lost on the girl serving us as well. Wordlessly came over to us which we took for she must be taking our order. Ordered our food and she silently shuffled away. Not bad but would not go there again.

In any case I got full and was allowed to give 781 (71 Baht Service included) Baht for it. If this restaurant would put as much love into the food as into the ambience, then you could award 5 stars here. The food wasn't bad in itself, but especially the taste wasn't that special. Had a salad of salmon and a Massaman Curry menu. I as an amateur cook would definitely do better. If only I had so many fresh Thai spices, I just don't understand how you can cook so boring and without heart and soul. There is a lot of competition here! A miracle that this restaurant still exists. It's a real pity, but more like 2-stars I can not give!

Good food but absolutely no plating sense... or too much thereof??

Food was very bland and service was about average as well. For being in a main strip of Phuket with lots of options around I expected better. The portion size of the food was good but there was just no taste, it was quite bad, we did not really eat the food. We ordered the Thai chicken and cashew nut was very very bland as well as the morning Glory which was just as bad. We also had the crab curry which had some flavor buy was made very spicy. When looking at the docket it added spicy...which we were never asked. This is an honest opinion and just want people to know there are much better options around.
