Stopped for a late lunch on our visit to Banff. Upper patio was very pleasant and the service was good. Food was served hot and beer served cold. What more can you ask for?
After many visits to Canada, we finally decided to try poutine and this was the place! The one we chose had elk meat and cheese curds. We also had pizza with elk, roasted red peppers, Canadian bacon, mozzarella cheese, caramelized onions and marinara sauce. The elk tasted a lot like roast beef and wasn’t gamey at all. We really liked both items and thought this was one of the best meals of our trip. This place is basically a bar on the second floor of downtown’s main thoroughfare. We sat at one of the tables on the street side of the business and had a decent view outside. Would definitely do this again if we had the chance.
Lively place to have lunch. They offer a rooftop seating but it was near 90s in July so we opted for a table right by the balcony that overlooks the crowd on the streets of BANFF. Food was good, our first time to try Elk meat, and of course Canada's poutine fries. I ordered a Moscow Mule -- very refreshing on a hot day! I'm just a bit disappointed the drink was not served in a traditional Moscow copper mug. Over all it's a good place to unwind and enjoy the the buzz of summer in BANFF.
We stopped in for an adult beverage and dinner. We chose to go to the roof top for the view. It was nice and the service was good. The waiter was helpful and provided us with a lot of information. I wanted to try something local so he recommended poutine while my wife had wonderful mussels. The sort of was due to what I ordered as I am not a fan of poutine. As we went around the park, Jasper, and Edmonton Poutine is a thing. I am sure it was done correctly. The other dishes that passed looked very good. I would recommend this place. As we ask around a lot of the people working in Banff suggested this and I agree. FYI the only way to the deck is up stairs.
