SG Rao's Military Hotel is almost 100 years old. We were hyped after seeing the youtube videos. We visited the place and ordered the soup which was okay salt was low , then we ordered the chicken and mutton palav which were great with korma then the sides which were chilly chicken, mutton chops, mutton keema balls, their special chicken and mutton dishes. The sides were amazing. So overall the food and service was great and it opens at 6 AM so go early or you might have to wait in line.
Value for Money.. Mild spice biriyani, tastes really good.
Had been here once.. as its a famous place.. <br/ Tried plain-pulav served with sharwa , which was good.. <br/ <br/ The mutton leg soup was quite good.. (am not an ideal person who can review mutton soups as I have limited experience on the same <br/ The mutton-udayagiri fry was par excellence .. <br/ <br/ Must visit place for anyone who loves mutton dishes.. <br/ <br/ Will try other mutton dishes later and review the same .. <br/ <br/ Thanks and regards,<br/ Hemanth
One of the legendary places in Bangalore. Having a history of 110 odd years serving biriyani.<br/ I had been to this place on a Sunday morning, yes morning. As they serve their biriyani staring at about 6 in morning.<br/ <br/ Tried the mutton dum biriyani, chicken biriyani, paya soup or kaal soup, chicken pepper and idly.<br/ Really loved the piping hot paya soup here.<br/ <br/ Mutton biriyani and chicken biriyani both had pretty much the same taste apparently as it's same masala used. Only the meat rendered taste was a difference.<br/ <br/ Idly was piping hot and soft. Chicken pepper roast with idly worked magic in the pallete.<br/ <br/ Waiting to go again with a gang of friends for a biriyani breakfast here.
