Thipsamai is a popular long-standing Thai restaurant with four locations serving only pad thai. All of their dishes are gluten-free (made with tamarind and shrimp paste) with the exception of the vegetarian pad thai (which is made with soy sauce). The wait staff were quickly able to discuss gluten-free options with me and confirmed they use separate woks for the gluten-free and non-gluten-free dishes. We tried a few of the variations of pad thai which were equally fantastic. I would recommend trying their homemade orange juice. Service is quick and cheerful and their original restaurant on Maha Chai Road has a small gift shop. If you want gluten-free pad thai, come here. If you dont arrive early, there may be a line to get but it does move quickly!
They don’t have a gf menu but can point out what’s gf and made sure if was separated in the kitchen. Tbh I wasn’t a big fan of the Pad Thai I ate but I had the original one with loads of shrimp oil, which was just not my taste. The rest looked and smelled amazing. Cute place, would go again. Quite touristy. No symptoms after
Food is clearly labelled as gluten free but be prepared the queue for at least 10 mins at all hour of the day, it’s very popular.
Great place, not a huge selection of you're not into shrimp but I had pad Thai without shrimp and it was delicious. Ended up buying another to take home, and returned again the next day! I'm a very sensitive celiac and the owner came over to double check they understood everything correctly. Didn't get ill at all, food was really good and 90 baht for pad Thai was great :
