Our sons had a great time and loved the burgers, pizza , seafood and bottled flavored sodas! My youngest said he wants to work there! . Thanks for the lovely night, great attitude when you must be exhausted and delicious food!
Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 I enjoyed the duck fried burger. Great flavor. The drinks were really delicious. The tacos had huge chunks of chicken that were hard to bite apart. Quite dry. Flavor was there though.
We stopped here for a cocktail to sit on the patio in the sunshine. The server, you was great and the drinks were amazing. It's a lovely sunny afternoon and a great place to spend some QT in the sunshine. PBJ Old Fashioned, Strawberry Rhuball Blood Orange Margarita.
I am a native of Bangor. I no longer live here but I never fail to come to Blaze when I visit. This was the best experience! I felt like I was sitting in downtown Boston. The streets were alive with a contagious summer energy. The outside seating area was large and nearly full. I chose to sit inside. I sat in a window seat and enjoyed the eclectic view of people meandering by. I 'm not too old to enjoy a handsome scenery...there was certainly some of that. (See photos) My waitress, Tyra (on left) was exceptionally sweet and very attentive. The bartender was friendly and makes a stellar drink. For those who aren 't familiar, Blaze sits in a building that 's more than 100 years old. There 's a nuclear fallout shelter in the basement. Nextdoor is the Charles Inn. It 's considered haunted by some and, was once featured in 'Hotel Impossible '. Al Brady was gunned down by the FBI just outside both buildings. In 1937 he and his gang came to Bangor to buy machine guns from a local sporting goods store. The FBI was tipped off. The shootout was described as 'A spectacular gun battle ' (See Wikipedia). If you come to Bangor, don 't miss sitting in this beautifully renovated restaurant rich in history and in 'spirits '.
Reservation process through Open Table was great. Blaze called to confirm six hours before our seat time. When we got there we were greeted promptly and seated within 15 minutes of our reservation time. We ordered two appetizers the oysters were overcooked. We ordered nothing special off the menu and delivery of food took an hour and 20 minutes. We inquired at about an hour to a waitress that was not ours and was told the kitchen was backed up. My mom's salad was earthy, unwashed. My daughter's barbecue ribs were raw on the inside burnt on the outside and slathered in barbecue sauce. The waiter offered no munchies to make us more comfortable and after about 45 minutes he completely disappeared. His effort to assuage my complaints was $5 off $150 check. I won't go back.
