I ate at Green Tea with a mixed group of nutritional preferences, and all were very satisfied. I was insecure when my questions about vegan, no mayonnaise, or fish were understood in the miso soup, but I left myself on edamame and the 3-Koch Maki dinner that was more than filled. I would definitely return if I were back in the area. I liked the seating options that contain the bar area or semi-private rooms along the side.
Green tea serves hot food that is a mixture of Thai, Chinese and Japanese (veggie gyoza, edamame, ma po tofu and more). My husband and I eat here often, and we don't usually eat hot food and just go for the sushi menu. They definitely have the best variety and quality of Veggie Sushi in the Bangor area. You have a clearly marked section for vegetarian sushi in the menu, and there are several additional vegan and vegetarian options from the a la cart menu. Some of our favorites are Mango (from the a la cart menu), sweet potato rolls and everything with Gurke and Avocado. The people working at Green Tea are always warm and welcoming. Sometimes you can listen to the same song or two on the loop, the whole time you are there, but otherwise I always find Green Tea a big treat. Updated by previous review on 2018-02-01
I agree with the previous review—this place has excellent vegan sushi options, including brown rice for the maki rolls. I dined at Green Tea with a mixed group of people with different dietary preferences, and everyone was very satisfied. I felt a bit uncertain when I asked whether the miso soup was vegan and confirmed that it contained no mayonnaise or fish, but I ended up enjoying the edamame and the three-kinds maki dinner, which was more than enough to fill me up. I would definitely return if I find myself back in the area. I also appreciated the seating options, which include a bar area and semi-private rooms along the side.
Green Tea offers a delightful array of hot dishes, blending Thai, Chinese, and Japanese cuisines, including veggie gyoza, edamame, ma po tofu, and more. My partner and I frequently dine here, often skipping the hot dishes in favor of the sushi menu. They undoubtedly have the finest selection and quality of vegetarian sushi in the Bangor area. The menu features a clearly marked section for vegetarian sushi, along with several vegan and vegetarian options available a la carte. Some of our favorites include the mango from the a la carte menu, sweet potato rolls, and anything with cucumber and avocado. The staff at Green Tea are consistently warm and welcoming. While we occasionally hear the same songs on repeat, it doesn't detract from the overall experience; I always find dining at Green Tea to be a pleasure. This review is an update from my previous one on February 1, 2018.
I share the sentiments of the previous reviewer—this restaurant offers fantastic vegan sushi options, including the choice of brown rice for the maki rolls. I dined at Green Tea with a diverse group of people with different dietary preferences, and everyone left quite satisfied. I was a bit uncertain if my inquiries about vegan options, the absence of mayonnaise, or the inclusion of fish in the miso soup were fully understood, but I ended up choosing the edamame and the three-choice maki dinner, which was more than enough. I would definitely return if I'm in the area again. I also appreciated the seating options, which included the bar area and semi-private rooms along the side.
