I can’t wrap my head around how my experience was so different from the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Take my advice and read the lower-rated reviews — they are absolutely accurate. The only positive aspect of my visit was the kindness of the young lady working there. The food was not ready on time, despite there being no other customers. I spent about 10 minutes repeatedly calling out, "Hello, is anyone there?" before someone finally appeared. The restaurant was shockingly dirty; I've never encountered such a level of filth, even in the sketchiest places in Philadelphia. Honestly, I can't believe I didn't just turn around and leave. I'm baffled that I actually ate anything after seeing and smelling the mess. It’s unbelievable that the health department hasn’t shut this place down. Are there restaurant inspections in Bangor? If so, they must be ignoring this establishment. The food was terrible — I took a few bites and ended up throwing it all away. The beef gyro featured poorly seasoned, dry meat. As someone who cooks this food at home, I’m well aware of the spices used, and it was completely off. There was hardly any sauce, just unappetizing-looking onions and green peppers. Green peppers?! The pita was microwaved and rubbery, and the fries were cold, limp, undercooked, and bland. The chicken thigh was dripping with grease and had mushy skin, so I didn’t even try it. As for drinks, I only had the option of Pepsi or Diet Pepsi. I genuinely don’t understand how this place is still in business, and I’m amazed I didn’t get sick from just those few bites. I feel really sorry for the young lady working there. If this is a family-owned business, she might be stuck, but if it’s not, she ought to seek employment elsewhere. If locals truly think this food is good, someone really needs to open a halal cart and watch the customers flock in. In summary: disgustingly dirty, subpar ingredients, and flavors that are far too disappointing to even consider returning.
Walked in at 810pm, ordered and then settled down at a table and was then informed that the dining room was closed. Food came out at 850pm. And they promptly locked up the shop. It didn't matter that they didn't give us sauce for our falafel or that my meal seemed to be missing half of it.$65 for a shawarma wrap (that they refused to make into a salad), a chicken platter, a gyro platter, 12 piece nuggets with fries, and two orders of falafels. My gyro platter was severely lacking. I was very very disappointed. It looked nothing like the picture on the menu. This was an absolute bust. I don't recommend. All the meat was mushy. Falafel balls dry and some overcooked. Overall just no. Keep going.
I recommend Falafel and chicken tikka plate the burger and shawarma warp they are good also only the missing touch was the salt
Was introduced to this restaurant by a friend back in 2020. I like the food here, very delicious! Owned by a small family of four and they are all very nice. Not a complete 5 star for me, I 'd actually give it a 3 1/2 if I could. Wait time is a bit excessive at times and it 's not in the matter of impatience or unreasonableness. You may order something ahead of time like an hour before)... come to pick it up and it 's not even finished -but you were told on the phone 20 minutes and this has happened more than a few times... When dining in, the tables are sometimes left sticky and messy. Another thing to watch out for is your total amount . This also has happened more than a couple times where I order something and the price is incorrect and too high from what is put on the menu calculated with tax. When that happens I just don 't tip. Another thing that has happened too much is sometimes you might order something and if they don 't have it, they will make you something else and charge you for the price of the food you didn 't rder. Personally I find that rude. Or you get just one thing out of the 1/4 thing you ordered. Also my friends who have been ordering from this place more than I have shared the same complaints. I don 't know if it 's a language barrier thing or... I don 't think these things are being done intentionally, but they definitely need to be worked on. The positive for me is; how kind the family is, a huge menu and lots to choose from, the strawberry banana smoothie.
