Na Song Khla - Banyule

This place was long a favourite of ours but on this occasion the red curry wasn't quite as amazing as it usually isThe time after, same again.

The front of this restaurant presents as a little daunting and dark however the welcome was warm and the service during our visit was friendly.They have a broad menu with the usual Thai selections and we found their servings to be generous and the dishes quite tasty. With entrees you only require three mains with rice for a table of four.They do BYO and we were immediately offered an ice bucket upon arrival.All in all not a bad suburban Thai with plenty of street parking.

I have lived in the area for over 40 years. Tis used to be our go to place for Thai but we have avoided it for at least 10 years as it went right off. My daughter bought takeaway and it was a disaster compared to the old days. Why do people think "Thai food is easy so let's open a café",Done well Thai food is sublime but you won't get it here..

I've been here twice in the last few years and from memory it's been good hence a third visit. The place and staff look the same but my food was disappointing. Ordered the veggies in garlic stir fry with aside of coconut rice as I've really enjoyed this dish at several other Thai restaurants. When it arrived my first reaction was "where's the greens?" The veggie dish consisted of LOTS of sliced carrots, ginger, baby corn, onion and tofu. The only green item was a lonely piece of spring onion. It was more a carrot stir fry. Flavour was ok but just really lacked variety and for the price was a let down. The others enjoyed their meal but no one raved about it. Much prefer the veggie ginger dish at Thai Lantern in Ivanhoe.

This place actually provided my partner and I with the worst Thai I have ever tasted. We ordered a Pad Thai and Massaman beef curry- two very standard Thai dishes. The Pad Thai was all noodles and cabbage, no flavor or substance. The Massaman curry was even worse- the beef was hard and chewy and the sauce watery and once again flavorless. I have never complained about food at the end of the meal before upon paying at an establishment however after eating here I felt compelled to do so. The staff acknowledged the poor tasting food and gave us a 10% discount, how generous! We visited here about a year ago and the food was fine, obviously in a year though the food has majorly changed for the worse.We left feeling disappointed and hungry and will not be going back.
