China Joy - Bar Harbor

This is a Chinese restaurant, but not one that you would find in Chinatown; it’s important to keep that in mind when evaluating it. My partner and I recommend China Joy’s summer menu, especially for Chinese tourists. We enjoy many items from their regular menu, particularly their earthy dishes. However, the summer menu has some intriguing seafood options and several dishes that cater to Chinese customers, providing a unique opportunity for everyone to experience flavors that are as close to authentic as you can get in Downeast Maine. We really enjoy dining at China Joy!

I had a great experience at the restaurant. The portions were generous, and the food was delicious. A friendly young lady took my order and was very attentive while I shared my stories. I definitely recommend this place!

The General Tso's chicken was absolutely delicious! The Cantonese seafood and fried noodles were also outstanding. Overall, I would give the taste a five-star rating. I'm definitely going to return just for the General Tso's chicken; the sauce was incredible!

Reliable decent Chinese food. We ordered chicken broccoli, house fried rice, bean sprouts w/ shrimps and egg tomato soup. The food tasted fresh and not greasy or loaded with MSG. My meal cost much less than any of the other restaurants in the area and there was more food than I could finish.

The Seafood Rice Noodle Soup Ginger Fried Rice was my favorite. Was very surprised to find a Chinese restaurant in Bar Harbor, Maine
