The food we ordered was good, but we did not feel well treated before we ordered the main dishes, they brought us a tapa with cheese, brot and some olives. we thought it was free because we hadn't asked for it. maybe because we. from Spanish and some places there they get some free tapas like brot while they wait for the food) but when we saw the bill they had charged us 8 euro for the brot and cheese. we felt very upset about it. my question is: do they make this to each individual table? I doubt it.

We made a reservation and when we came in we were seated in a table wth no cutlery or plates. The people that came after us were seated on tables that were already set up and were given menus, but we had to wait for 15 minutes before standing up and grabbing a menu ourselves. During all this time the manager was standing around doing nothing, even glancing at our table without stepping up to give us the menu, while the rest of the staff seemed to be too busy with other tables to acknowledge us. When we finally managed to place our order, they walked away without getting out drinks order, so we had to wait an extra 10 minutes. We were there for 45 minutes when our food finally came, and the salad I ordered had half the ingredients it was supposed to. I asked about this and apparently they'd ran out, but failed to mention this when we made our order. I ordered beef steaks that had the consistency of a rubber sole. My friends ordered roast chicken which was pretty good, hence the two stars rather than one. The manager was probably well aware of the fact that we were annoyed with the service so instead of facing the music he avoided our table and ignored us. We did see him approaching all the other tables to ask if everything was alright (which was the only time we saw him do anything that resembled work). All in all, we all agreed that it was an absolute ordeal just to get mediocre food, and we felt bad for the young lady serving as, as it wasn't her fault that there wasn't even an attempt at organisation, or communication between the kitchen staff and room staff, and the fact that the manager was clearly useless.

Espaço novo espetacular. Edifício belíssimo e reabilitação cuidada e inteligente. Bar confortável, bom ambiente, boa música, bom gosto na decoração, bom atendimento e com esplanada - perfeito! Impossível perder a oportunidade numa visita a Barcelos!
