Contribuisci feedbackThe lodge on the outside, restaurant, and bar is beautiful, very homey. Our room was cute, semi clean, there were some cobwebs and no screen on the window but other than that nice. I don’t know what they use for laundry but I got very itchy/rash from it. The food was not bad but expensive. (We’ve never been to cooks forrest and didn’t realize pricing in the area ran high). We had an enormous bill at the bar but the owner called me and explained it was not how it should be priced so please consider that. The service staff was very friendly and the service was quick especially for them being understaffed. I wasn’t aware the owners live upstairs. They were out of town the one night we stayed, but he did tell me he has someone stay there when they are gone. The walls are thin, no tv in bedrooms (which we liked), there’s live music which all artists were great. The live music went on later than expected the one night but the owner explained there was a delay with the start time. The first night our heater stopped working and it was freezing but the next day it was working perfectly fine (might have just needed to heat up). There are a lot of stairs so if you’re someone who can’t do stairs it might be difficult. I have edited my initial review as the owner personally called to discuss our experience and it seems there was a lot of misleading/incorrect information given from the bartender along with incorrect pricing/ringing us up at the bar. I found it very kind, courteous, and great customer experience that the owner called to personally talk, ask for feedback, and give clarity. I would be a bit wary if you’re listening to what some individuals might say and call the owners directly. It overall was not a bad experience, mostly just wasn’t expecting the pricing (which seemed to be done incorrectly). With the owners call he offered to help rectify some of the things we experienced which I thought was very kind and generous. Knowing what I know now from talking to the owner and not gossip from the bartender has made me feel a lot better and willing to go back. I put pictures of our room.
We received the best service ever!!!! Our reservation ran late so the owner brought me a glass of wine on the house. When we were seated in the dining room we were given the best seat in the house, closest to the fireplace. The waitress apologized for our wait, which honestly was only 20 minutes. Then dinner took a little longer than expected so they comped the entire dinner including dessert!!!In this day an age since covid, customer service seems to be lacking. It definitely is not at the Clarion River Lodge!!!! This was a very memorable and delicious experience from the soup to the main course and to the delicious homemade dessert!!!!! We have dined here before and we will definitely be back!!!!!!
Don’t rent a room and stay Renting a room to have dinner and listen to music this is a town drinking hole. You WILL not even be able to enjoy and sit at the bar or general area. No TVs in room. Summer might be more favorable to stay with additional seating options but I’m highly disappointed with not being able to sit around and watch enjoy the music but from my room down the hall. Town drinking hole!!
We stayed in one of the rooms in the winter time very outdated had a space heater for heating but the biggest part to bothered me was that that when we were trying to eat lunch, there was a dog roaming around. It would not leave us alone at the table, begging for food, and the waitress saw the dog there, but didn’t do anything about it? It was very uncomfortable there’s something I don’t want mom eating lunch.
Totally get a Hallmark movie vibe at the CRL; vintage, woodsy themes throughout. Each guest room has its own theme, we have stayed in the Music Room and Irish Room so far. There is no phone or TV in the room so you truly get to unplug and unwind. I have AT T wireless and get no cell service in the area, my fiancé has Verizon and gets cell service, there is WiFi. The resturant and pub are cozy and warm feeling with great food and drinks. All of the staff have been helpful, kind and prompt, if there is a back up or issue like they ran out of something they let you know right away as well. There is live music on the weekends and dining outside when the weather is good. The Innkeepers Vic and Shannon are so personable and make you feel like your staying with friends. Their little girl Lucy is super cute and funny, Lola their dog is sweet and watchful, willing to accept a treat but never begs.We love coming to the lodge and get FOMO big time when they post their fun events we can’t go. Definitely a Cook Forest hidden gem!
