Mi Rancho Mexican - Barnwell

I'm from California, and I'm looking for high quality Mexican cantinas on my trip and when I live in other states. I believe that the Mexican cuisine in the south and on the entire east coast, for this matter, is inferior to what was found west, but I decided to give Mi Rancho an attempt. It has an extensive menu, great tortilla chips and a beautiful hot salsa on request. It also has a number of top-shelf tequilas, and the can equis on design is nicely carbonized. I enjoyed my dinner very much on my first and several visits afterwards. During my first visit, our waiter had a very high opinion of himself and actually had the nerve to call me a Mariz in the face even though I was there with my girlfriend. The manager/owner is a very gruesome woman, partly due to the fact that her child's father was unable to regain the United States. Also, at least half a dozen all male employees around the bar observe Spanish language music videos or futbol games, while toddlers children run screaming up and down the Aisles unmanaged. A real down home, smokey Southern Mexican. Our last visit ended when I asked that our server box my almost full-fledged record while my girlfriend and I had a few more shooters. When the bill came, I asked about my left. He said he had no. I spoke to the manager and she claimed that the record was empty when he brought it from our table. We left. A cantina is more than just about food, and Mi Rancho will give you up when you're looking for the right thing.

New management has meant good food and good staff! I was like many amd thought I would never go back, but MiRanchos has now become one of my favs again!

We always enjoy our meal from MI Rancho. The price is fair and the food always good.

This was my second visit to this restaurant and I still have to say it was great food once again. If you are in the area and live Mexican food...this is the place to go!

I don’t know how this place has such a low review.. Best spot in town!! Hands down Great taco salads!!!
