The Mother Road Museum Route 66 is located at Barstow Train Station and is a large small museum to visit when you visit the historic Route 66 or the great Barstow Train Station in Barstow. There are some historical artefacts and antiques to see in the museum and are organized in certain categories. There is also a gift shop with items to buy as souvenirs.
I had so much fun and I'm glad I came here. Make sure to visit the gift shop for great items at a great price. I paid $20 for a Route 66 Hoodie.
Deb was great to talk with today : The museum has many great displays of history from along the Route, and lots of souvenirs, as well as great books with all kinds of historical information!
What a great little Route 66 Museum! You don't want to miss this but call to be sure they are open. It's Small but Mighty! The museum displays a collection of historic photographs and artifacts related to Route 66 history and organized into different sections so it's easy to view and not crowded. They also have a great selection of Rte 66 T-shirts and other great Rte 66 items for sale in their gift shop! Don't forget to check out the Historic train station and Harvey House it's a part of.... The Harvey House Railroad Depot was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, great photo opps
