Breakfast menu is very economical, although you don't have much choice. Most articles are available at 60% of the normal rate
This outlet is right after the descent of the zirakpur flyover from Chandigarh side. The restaurant is good. It is partly self-service since you have to order at the counter and have to pay beforehand, but the food is brought to the table by the waiters.... We went to dinner and all the snacks were like Dhokla, all Kachoris, Samosa were ready. We ordered dosa, chana bhatura and papdi chaat. The Dosa was tasty like the Sambhar and Chutneys. The bhaturas were hot, but the Chana was not very delicious. The bhalla papdi was a totally average affair. I had even better Bikanervalas. We wanted to order jalebi, but the cashier said it wasn't there. Later we asked the chef who cooks Jalebi and he said that Jalebi is available. Then I had to be back in the queue to order only Jalebis. I did not like this attitude that without asking the cook, the cashier himself said that the thing is not available. The menu is very limited compared to other outputs of Bikanervala. The prices are OK. We were four people and we had dinner under 500 INR. But would think twice before going there again, as Gopal's and Sindhi candy are also close to this restaurant.
It was a good meal as usual and fast delivery for which this restaurant chain is known. Especially Yash was exceptional. He ensured that our family was well looked after. It is a bit expensive as according to Chandigarh standards.
My first visit to the famed chain of snack restaurants. Situated along the ambala highway just on the outskirts of Chandigarh. Very near to wholesale stores Metro and Best price. Ambience is neat and tidy. Very spacious. The seating and chairs can be more comforting....The service is disappointing. Ordered the punjabi regular chole bathure. Bathure was good. But the plate offering could have been done better.. with the likes of similar restaurants in that area offering much more for the same dish, like a slice of lemon and chilli and some salad. Food tasted well. Then I tried the vada sambar. Vada was a bit oily and the chutneys were disappointing. The sambar was good though. Hope to try their chaat items next time though.
