The service was mediocre, but the food was not good. The omelette was oily and the cucumber was bad. I would not dine there again.
Poppins is pretty iconic. it is a caffe in basildon next to the rear entrance for eastgate shopping center and it is here since I can remember. 30 strange years. it's retro that it hasn't changed its facility for some time and it...a deal. classic diner style 70's brown and wood decor with an 80's finish, large mirror and semi atmospheric lighting. all I love. the employees are healthy looking, which is always comfort and they are classic in not over the moon about the work, but I wouldn't want them on other wise. cafe culture perfection, innit. it has a hauch of class. it is a cafe restaurant. the good eating of the coffee I have chosen to create my own bake, as I will not eat meat and milk. it is easier to choose. there is a vege burger addition that does not sound too much with the whole option available today. So I went for tinted toms, fresh toms, 3 hah-browns (obvs) and toast and bud and mushroom sintered toms and mushrooms tasted a bit funky, so I left them aside. there was no vegan option sausage speck or ei (yes vegane ei, it is a real thing and tastes super) that is a scandal, how accessible all these products are now and reasonable in cost. also flora butter has recently gone completely planted on the basis, but it provided a non-milk-based spread for my toast. over all, long live this caffe and its transfer to a fuller and more plant-based delicious menu. if they are vegan vegetables, I would choose to be boning on toast. there is a large community in the surrounding areas just waiting for a vegan options breakfast: dd use this!
This place is so sweet. it is like a walk in an American dinner of the 1950s or a scene of grease eating is ok the worth for money is crazy good the staff is professional and friendly
Ate here today. There were more staff than customers which isn't a good sign. Ordered quickly enough and the waitress brought over our drinks quickly too. Food arrived and wasn't quite as explained (no mushrooms on breakfast) and the hash browns tasted like they had...been deep fried in old oil but it was OK. Defo had better and defo had worse. A bit of a pointless review this really isn't it. 6 out of 10
