Aqua Farms Crawfish - Basile

I bought Aqua Farms crawfish from Lamendola's in Gonzales, and while they were fresh and not frozen—though they might have been frozen at some point—I found the quality disappointing. I used them to make an étouffée, but unfortunately, the crawfish turned out mushy and lost their texture. In fact, I think the Chinese crawfish, which I typically don't like, would have been a better option than this brand. I purchased four packs at $18.00 each. I cooked two bags first and stored the other two in the fridge overnight, but when I prepared the second batch, it was just as unappealing as the first. Additionally, there was a lot of fat in the bags, but it was quite watery, which I believe contributed to the mushiness of the tails. Overall, I was not satisfied with my experience and won't be purchasing Aqua Farms crawfish again!

I had a disappointing experience with the crawfish I purchased from NuNu's in Youngsville. The quality was subpar; they were mushy right out of the bag, and even though the vein removal was advertised, there were still pieces left in the crawfish. My mom and I noticed the appearance and texture weren't promising, but we decided to go ahead and make the étouffée anyway. I bought three bags, but in the end, we had to throw them out because the crawfish tasted terrible. It was frustrating to feel like all the time we spent preparing and the other ingredients were wasted. What a letdown!

I am excited to build a strong partnership with this farm as it starts its operations in Southeast Texas. I've heard great things about it from my family in Louisiana, and they've always received their orders reliably. The crawfish is consistently fresh and ready for enjoyment!
