Brasserie At The Hampshire Court

Stayed at the hotel for the British Motocross Grand Prix and wanted a hotel with a pool. Nothing close to Winchester available so booked this hotel as not a long drive. Pleasantly surprised to receive such polite, helpful and prompt service from all of the staff at the hotel. Rooms were pretty spacious and clean. Breakfast was very good and fresh. Unusual for me to write a review but I felt I had to because the whole experience was very good. Hotel is walking distance (5 minutes) to Tesco and shopping centre. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

Spa day with my daughter. The pool has been renovated and is really clean and nice. Could do with some more loungers small steam room and sauna but big enough. Treatments were fabulous and a a real highlight. Had a fanatic deep massage from amiss. Only gave 4 stars as there is no jacuzzi.

The food was amazing but had a really bad nights sleep, there's a noise from the boiler or some machinery around the hotel which is there all day and night the noise was unbearable..... Rooms: 2 Service: 5 Location: 3

It's beyond me how this place got a 4 star rating. Menu pretty basic burgers, fish and chips etc, I used Justeat. Room was pretty standard, coffee and tea option in rooms equal to Travelodge cheap sachets, UHT milk etc. Walls as thin as paper, my room had an adjoining door to the room next door, you can hear everything that goes on. OK for a stay, but the 4 star rating???? Rooms: 3 Service: 2 Location: 3

When my wife and I arrived here we were greeted by a nice receptionist. A slight distaste was an attempt to charge a reservation fee for two rooms, even though I had paid for them more than 2 months earlier. Unfortunately, one of the rooms turned out to be a bit neglected. In addition to the unpleasant smell of cigarettes and alcohol, there were signs of time that I did not see in the photos when making the reservation. We intervened and got another room, without the unpleasant smell and additionally with a balcony, but in a package with damaged floor slats, stains on the carpet, cobwebs, dust clouds in the ventilation and very dirty curtains. I realize that this is not the cleaner's fault, but rather too short a time to clean the room. In my opinion, as a 4 star hotel, it requires at least a general renovation or downgrading to 3 stars. I wanted to use the swimming pool, but after my experience with the rooms, I decided to limit my physical activity. All in all, I would give 4+ stars for the hotel staff and 2 stars for the rooms. Additional pros for the location quiet neighborhood and at the same time only 5 minutes on foot to a large Tesco : The average is 3. Rooms: 2 Service: 4 Location: 4
