I ordered Thai Fish Cakes (which are my favourite) and they were very bland and didn't come with the usual spicy dipping sauce that every good Thai restaurant provides. The rest of the entrees were spring rolls and prawn cutlets - definitely not Thai in origin. Our mains were very bland stir-frys - again more Chinese than Thai. Service was OK (it was a quiet night) and servings were generous, but it's definitely more Chinese than true Thai. I since learned that the owner is Thai, so maybe they're catering for their standard clientele who are not keen on true Thai food.
The crispy skin pork belly was amazing. If you want good homey thai food, this is the place to be. The space was great for large groups (tables up to 10+ I think) and the view was nice. I think the name has changed to 'Mao's Thai restaraunt'.
This restaurant always serves good quality food at reasonable prices. It is spacious and we never have trouble finding a table. The atmosphere is pleasant, with good acoustics. It stays open until 10pm, even when most other places in town have already closed.
Our meals were very tasty. Friendly staff. Great location in conjunction to our accommodation. Had no complaints.
Ordered mussaman beef curry, rice and spring rolls.Spring rolls were soggy, not freshly cooked.Hardly any beef in the dish and what was in it was tiny pieces and tasted old.Have been visiting this restaurant for 9yrs and will be seeking out a different this experience now.
