Rockwall Brasserie - Batemans Bay

We had one meal here while staying at the Coachhouse Marina Resort - my first choice was not available, but the battered fish and the chicken schnitzel were well prepared and tasty. The service to our table was slow, however we were offered a free dessert as an apology - and we were in no rush, so it was not an issue. Prices were reasonable. We would happily visit again.

Staying at the Marina and dropped in for happy hour. The bar person, Jo, is lovely and we enjoyed some great cocktails! Lovely atmosphere and we look forward to dropping by for cocktails again soon!

We went on the Saturday Night of the Long Weekend in June 2014. The food was of good standard although we has a limited choice due to our preference not to eat meat. Prices were average. It was very quiet for a Long Weekend. We went early so it may have been more busy later in the night.

We've been having a bit of a rough time lately so my partner booked us in for a two night stay. We thought that with an "Award Winning Restaurant" on site, we could have a great time without having to leave, and were really excited.The signs said bookings were essential so we called them to reserve a table at 6:30. They said the earliest they could squeeze us in was 7pm, and that was pushing it. When we arrived, we expected the place to be packed, but it was less than half full. We were seated near the door, next to a couple with two children and an older couple who had arrived right after us.We waited for about ten minutes for service, and placed our order. Right after that, the couple's children received their meals. After another few minutes the older couple placed their order, which didn't include entrees.Twenty minutes went by before our entrees came out, with only one other table served food in the meantime. The food was terrible - I had the seafood laksa and it was horribly overcooked, the seafood rubbery and the noodle broken up, and there was still beard on the mussels. My partner had the Moroccan beef, and got one skewer broken in half of meat, which cost $14. And then we waited. The place was nearly empty, yet service was incredibly slow (they did not clear our table for twenty minutes of the dishes, and despite us saying we did not want wine, they did not remove the four wineglasses from our tiny table) and the couple next to us didn't receive their food until an hour after their children had finished. We got our mains before the poor older couple, who waited a total of an hour and a half for their first course, and even then it was not cooked properly and they had to send part of it back.My lamb shank pie was not worth having - the shank was thin on meat and big on fat. Shank is a fatty cut, but it should still be trimmed of the gluggy bits. The sauce in the pie was lacking flavour, and the mash had no seasoning whatsoever, and was runny. My partner's steak was cooked beautifully, but not as he had asked for it. His vegetables were barely cooked, and the cauliflower still had the blackening that happens when it begins to go off. The sauce saved the dish for him, and if we weren't hungry we would have gone elsewhere. Neither of us could finish any of our food, though the husband in the older couple said his beef pie was excellent, which is good. The service was non existent, with the host and the one waitress often disappearing entirely, and very long waits for food. Almost every table that had been in the place when we got there was still there when we left, two hours after we arrived.In summary - the resort was fantastic, but don't waste your time with the restaurant. That horrible experience cost $91.60, and we only spent $6 on drinks.

They have a pretty decent menu, we only had the pizza one night because we were too tired to cook. Great prices too!
