Do not miss dining here when in Batemans Bay. The food is out of this world. I tried sea urchin for the first time and loved it. The cost of $90 per head is really worth it. The meals take you on a foodie adventure. The staff are also excellent . Highly recommended. We will return again for dinner.
Wow!!!!!! And this is in Batemans Bay. If I could give more stars, I would give The Sandbar 10 stars out of 5. With some intrepidation we decided to try the $90 degustation menu. Seven courses of absolutely stunning bite sized gourmet dishes you would never find on an ordinary menu - and most of the ingredients are sourced locally. This would be the most divine meal I have EVER had. Worth every cent, and the hostess was divine - all class. Apparently the menu changes every few weeks, and we will be back - again and again. Just superb.
A simply magnificent, contemporary dining experience at Sandbar! We were blown away each time a plate was delivered to the table! Oohs and ahs from all of us over and over again! Very creative presentation. Wonderful surprising flavours. Stylish, modern decor. Lovely service. Outstanding. Don't miss this little gem!
We had dinner at the Sandbar on Saturday night. The minute we walked in the door we felt rushed. Even though they invited us to sit in the lounge and enjoy a cocktail, they also tried to usher us to our table quickly since they were expecting a large party. Our courses all came out really close together with little or no explanation of what it was. My husband doesn't eat red meat and the substitutions were thoughtless. (Instead of steak for the final course he was given more of the fish from an earlier course, but with the sauce to go with the steak. Instead of the duck, which was delicious, he was meant to have extra scallops but that didn't happen) For such an expensive meal, I had hoped for more of an evening, rather than an in and out experience.
