After sending it back to the kitchen, it came back the same way. I ultimately refused to pay for it. The peas, if that's what they were, were in a small pot and seemed to have been microwaved, making them look like chaff and crumbly. The fish appeared to have been precooked and then warmed up, a big mistake when it comes to fish. Even the chips were cold, all served on a freezing cold plate. It seems like the chef may need retraining. It's puzzling how they received a fancy star rating.
We were seated in a cold conservatory despite the fact that the cozy section was empty. The food was terrible, with a burnt pizza that was practically inedible and gammon that was overly salty and mediocre at best. The waitress only interacted with us twice - once to take our order and then to give us our food, with minimal conversation in between. To top it off, we were charged a 10% service fee for what was essentially the bare minimum of service. Overall, a disappointing and unsatisfactory experience. We will not be returning.
Five of us had a selection of very tasty baguettes good choice of fillings and they come with chips. Nice big portion sizes. Good service. Fair pricing.
We had breakfast and dinner in this restaurant for 3 days and found the service and food very good. The staff were friendly polite and it was a pleasure to be in their company. The tables and chairs were good quality and chairs very comfortable. Overlooking the golf course the whole experience was very pleasurable in such nice surroundings. The best gammon steak I have ever tasted which I enjoyed two days running.
Nice staff, resturaunt, food, and surroundings, not happy about gratuaty charge automatically added to bill.,
