I parked there for 12 minutes but the machine was broken so I couldn't pay. I have evidence of this with a photo. Two weeks later, I received a threatening letter demanding £100 payment within 28 days for a 20p parking fee. I appealed but the pub claims they have no knowledge of the situation. I am still waiting for a response from a company that somehow has my information without any way to contact them. I recommend avoiding this pub at all costs.
I parked in your car park on 16 June and have been fined by Parking Eye. The machine was not working I have photographic evidence) when I went to pay. Paying by the SMS provided is no longer supported I have photographic evidence). I tried. Parkin Eye have refused my appeal despite the evidence. I do not have the time or energy to fight them. You say in your answer to a previous review that it is not your responsibility. I beg to differ if you are employing these people to manage your car park. I note they are not registered with the Ombudsman service. What a surprise !
Do not visit the George and Dragon if you can help it! We parked in the car park behind the pub on a Thursday afternoon and entered the establishment with our family. After a few minutes of gathering, we went to the bar only to find out that they were not serving lunch. Since we had not entered our car registration at the pub, we decided to leave and have lunch at the Gather Inn instead, where we also found free parking nearby. A few weeks later, we received a £100 Parking Eye invoice for using the car park for just 12 minutes (the time it took us to park, enter the pub, and realize there was no food). This experience left a bad taste in our mouths, as it seems unfair and lacks the flexibility needed for a family meal at a traditional pub. The pub could have informed us about Parking Eye or entered our car registration into their system, and Parking Eye's lack of grace period shows their unreasonable money-making intentions. This incident certainly soured our visit to Batheaston.
We were locked out of our Airbnb so called in here to ask for help. Evie went out of her way to help us, she organised the locksmith’s and we waited in the pub for them to arrive. Luckily we had a debit card. The pub has a really good selection of beers, spirits and ciders. The locals in there were just lovely and calmed us down in what was an extremely stressful situation and special thanks to Evie who was brilliant! Nothing too much trouble made us feel so welcome. We ordered food from the Indian attached when we managed to get in which was absolutely delicious, bhaji’s to die for and each dish we had was amazing best Indian we have had for ages. Thank you to everyone that helped us last night
Nice pub and great bar service but could be so much nicer if integrated with Easton Spice and served Indian lagers. Easton Spice does great food, sit in or takeaway but let down by scruffy toilets and lack of Indian lager at the bar.
