French Market Bistro - Baton Rouge

This is probably my favorite restaurant in Baton Rouge. Great wine selection and ambience. Food is wonderful and they are flexible to customize if you need something different than what is on the menu. Service was also very good. I recommend getting reservations as they get booked up quickly.

There were six in our party and everyone expressed how wonderful their dish was. No two of us ordered the same entree so we had a good cross section of the dishes. My Martini was one of the best I have ever enjoyed and the charbroiled oysters were grand. However the best part of the evening was our server, Megan, who made sure every course was to our liking. She was always attentive but never overbearing. She was one of the best servers I have ever encountered. She needs to be considered for a management position. A totally GRAND evening.

We were delighted with this casual fine dining spot. Extremely well run establishment. I am not used to dining room televisions in a place of this caliber, but it added to the casual atmosphere. Otherwise, fine decor and even better food. A bargain. And a McClaren 720 in the lot to ogle on the way out.

Made reservations and reservations were recognized. Hostess escorted us to our table and we sat a few minutes before even menus were given and drink order taken. Noticed other tables were served bread and we were never served any? Waiter returned shortly with drinks and served our meals.

Excellent food and excellent service. Perfect date night restaurant. My wife and I can’t wait to go back to try more on their menu.
