Iverstine Farms Butcher - Baton Rouge

Come for the meat stay for the food. Iverstines has really good and fresh meats from local livestock, as well as a in house deli making fresh sandwiches and a small buffet. The inside is kept prestine clean with fresh air, and a good atmosphere. The staff is nice and knowledgeable about what they serve.

Stopped by for lunch and had a burger with fries. The dining area was clean, the customer service is top notch, and the food was great! I will be back.

Love the new location. They have a great selection. Food is always delicious, esp the hot lunch plates. We also enjoy the fresh local groceries.

Drove into Br today to visit this butcher shop in hopes of finding a couple cuts of grass fed beef to make some jerky.This place did not disappoint. Picked up an eye of round for the jerky.The wife got her a chuck roast ,rib eye ground patties, and some free range eggs. Very satisfied with our 1st visit'.To be honest we had been ordering online out of state but deliveries have become atrocious. Out of necessity we were fortunate to find this local quality butcher shop. Thank you Mr. Galen for helping us today.

Purchased the sausage poboy at the Tuesday farmers market @the library. I have to say it was phenomenal. The sausage was perfectly seasoned, and they were kind enough to pull out just the onions with no green peppers for me (my stomach doesn't care for peppers). The onions were all tender, and the pickles they put on it were delicious. I could eat an entire jar of them alone. Also must comment on how lean the sausage is, none of the fat dripping down the chin like you get with so many sausage sandwiches.I also purchased 2 boudin links that will be my lunch today. Can't wait, they will undoubtedly be just as delicious. Will be going back for more soon. Oh and the price is very reasonable. Probably the cheapest 2 lunches I've had in some time.
