Zoroona Baton Rouge

The food and service were outstanding. There's a fantastic variety on the menu, and the portions are quite generous. I highly recommend it!

For our entrees, we chose dishes that Zorona usually doesn’t have on the menu, based on recommendations from other diners. I opted for the lamb osso bucco, as I had never tried this dish before. It was well-prepared, and while I'm glad I sampled it, I’m not sure I would order it again. Although lamb is a staple in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine, I realized I’m not a big fan of it. I think I would prefer a beef dish prepared in a similar style. My wife had the chicken Marengo, which I tasted, and we both agreed it deserves a permanent spot on Zorona’s menu. It had a delightful and interesting mix of Mediterranean flavors, and we plan to order it on our future visits. For dessert, we tried the almond cream cake and the chocolate mousse. While the mousse was incredibly rich, I found it a bit heavy after such a satisfying meal. The almond cream cake, on the other hand, was much lighter and had more subtle flavors that invited more bites. It had a sponge-like base soaked in almond-flavored liquid and topped with whipped cream and almond slices. This will definitely be our dessert of choice on future trips to Zorona.

The place is beautiful and spacious. The tables were covered in linen. We were given hot rosemary bread with an oil mixture to begin our meal. Everything we ordered was delicious. We had the fried Kubbi, a gyro, a chicken shawarma platter, and Zoroona's chicken. The portions are big and flavorful. I did not expect quality Mediterranean food in Baton Rouge, but this place has the best!

Terrible experience. 45+ minutes for dinner to come out, after waiting 20 min for salads. Owner would not come to table to discuss, sent waitstaff to handle issue. We were told the issue was due to a large party in adjoining room ordering at the same time, when we left no one was in the room. Will not go back, and do not recommend.
