These guys are the reason I pull off the freeway! The wait time to be served can fluctuate, however, depending if they are prioritising drive through. I typically eat in.
Went there when I was extremely hungry and malnourished. My family gorged on the Bondi burgers, halloumi burger and chicken box. Lots of the food was to a high standard except for the fact that there was too much salt in most meals. For example, burgers do not need so much salt and at the bottom of the chip containers there was a sandpit of salty residue. The staff looked just a little bit greasier than the food but were extremely nice. Where is their pay rise? And on the last note the wet towelettes. Image attached (as it is around the correct size for a rat) Overall had a nice experience here but I have three stars because I think there should be some major improvements.
The drive-in often closes up to half an hour early, depending on the staff's discretion. The burger toppings seem to be random; for instance, I've received burgers with lettuce served alongside coleslaw without any prior notice. Even if you specifically request the ingredients listed on the menu, it doesn't guarantee you'll get what you asked for. Be prepared for potential disappointment.
For a quick meal while exploring the peninsula, you can always count on Oporto for its consistent quality and variety.
Dishonest Staff. I sent my 8-year-old to order a burger and gave her my debit MasterCard to tap. When I checked my account, I saw that I was charged twice. I went back there five minutes later, and the staff member simply handed me $10 in cash without verifying the charge, clearly knowing she had been dishonest with my child. This is unacceptable.
