The hotel is perfectly located for this, although you do need a car, and is also only a few miles from the beautiful town of Bayeux with it's famous tapestry which is well worth a visit. The hotel is set in beautifully kept grounds with a large terrace with lots of seating at the rear. I haven't put a review on TripAdvisor for some time but felt this hotel deserved it as some of the past reviews have been somewhat critical. An up-date is due. It is clear that the hotel have recently addressed many of the criticisms and as a result has improved considerably. The public areas have been refurbished and the bar and restaurant are now bright, modern and comfortable areas. The staff on reception could not have been more helpful sorting out additional restaurant reservations and taxis for us and generally answering any questions we had. The food at the hotel continues to be excellent. Dinner was a gastronomic experience with several small beautifully presented tasting courses as well as the main dishes. Breakfasts were superb. Set out buffet style but with plenty of fresh choice: lovely breads, fresh fruit, cold and hot options and a very helpful member of staff if you needed anything else. The hotel also provided us with plentiful picnic bags for each day, including soft drinks, water and wine. The one weak spot continues to be the bedrooms which are somewhat dated. However we had a large super king sized bed, new bedlinen, fluffy towels in the bathroom and all was spotless. Our room was very close to the road and although I'm a light sleeper I wasn't disturbed by traffic noise at all. We didn't have time to use the pool but I believe this has also been recently refurbished.
I love this hotel and the staff, I sometimes come for work and I am always very satisfied but if I can say 2 things it is about the restaurant: 1) your brown butter is just exceptional 2) add a real plate of Norman cheese please for the purists...I won't say any more about it because it's a personal taste but above all I'm French and I like to eat raw cheese if you know what I mean. A big thank you to Sandrine
Really centrally located in relation to all the D day locations. We ate at their restaurant, which was absolutely fantastic best of the trip. Rooms can be a bit cold. Remember they also have a great pool
Discreto location molto suggestiva e tranquilla ...cibo buono ma mi aspettavo molto di più....personale cordiale ma poco attento
Good meal, with a "tasting" menu improvised on the basis of the map of the moment. the pigeon and the Saint-Pierre are excellent. the cheese (pont The bishop) in preparation has an interesting flavor accompaniment. The service made us perplexed: very attentive at the beginning, it became disinvolt at the end (we no longer announced the dishes). Very beautiful frame.
