Even my non-vegan friends are fans. One said she’d consider going vegan if all vegan food tasted this good. The Old City sandwich (essentially a vegan Philly cheesesteak) is my personal favorite, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Their sides are fantastic, too—my favorite is the potato salad! The only minor downsides are that the service can be a little slow, but given the small kitchen and the fact that everything is made to order, that’s understandable. Trust me, it’s worth the wait! Due to the cozy size of the restaurant, seating can be limited, but the atmosphere is lovely, and if you get full, you can always enjoy your sandwich at the beach nearby. I hadn’t been able to visit in a few years since I no longer live in NJ, but I’ve seen that this place is still thriving with a similar menu and is still run by the same family. I have no reason to believe that their quality has changed!
This restaurant is entirely vegan (assuming you don't eat honey, but they clearly mark any honey-containing items on the menu). We arrived a bit late, and they had run out of some items, but the staff was extremely friendly and did everything they could to accommodate us. There are numerous delicious options on the menu, including some fantastic choices for smoothies and juices. I do wish there were more options for burgers, toasts, and similar dishes, but overall, this place deserves a solid 10/10 for anyone seeking excellent vegan food on Long Beach Island.
During my summer in LBI, I made it a point to explore the menu and sample as many different dishes as possible. I loved everything I tried! The dishes featuring seitan and buffalo tempeh were particularly outstanding.
I have lived in nj for several years, but this year I was the first time I had the opportunity to go to the jersey shore. I was really excited, but I thought I would be left out of the food inspection – because I wasn't sure there was any vegan place, or those I want to visit again and again. the life on the veg is a miracle. it is so good that my partner and I all spent our weeks long. I would get the avo tempeh melt, in which usually two or three of them (one for now, one for the beach, and one heated up in the toaster of for 10PM lunches, and maybe a juice or another menu item, like the spicy Tofu Scrambble. the avo tempeh melt uses a crazy good cheese sauce with seasoning, nutritional yeasts, tofu and carrots. it is sinful good! the personal at this place is incredibly friendly, friendly and accommodating. one day, one of the friends who accompanied us had a few important allergies (such as gluten, and although we ordered over the phone, the shop called us back to confirm that their handling was suitable for the allergies of my friend. I hope this place will last a long time because it makes the jersey shore super vegan friendly. please try it if they are in the opposite! oh! and the stickers are very sweet:
Went 3 times in a week it was so good. Favorites so far are the avo tempeh melt, tempeh ranch, and the chuckwich. Scrambled tofu also delicious!!!!
