Madam Viet - Beaumaris

I went out with friends on Friday night and arrived at 6:15, only to be told that we needed to leave by 7:30 for the next seating. Despite ordering our food, we were asked multiple times by different staff members if we wanted to order. This was my second time at this restaurant, with my first visit costing $300 and last night's visit costing $115. We wanted more food and drinks but had to leave before we could order. Our bill for two waters, two beers, and the $59 special came to $82. The experience was unpleasant and stressful for both the staff and customers trying to find a seat to finish their drinks. If Miss Viet in Cheltenham is similar, it will likely be avoided by many. This restaurant needs to reconsider its policies.

Have been to Madam Viet 4 times now and have enjoyed the food each time, fresh and very tasty. The fit out is beautiful. The service is lacking though! I don't think they have enough wait staff to adequately service this very busy place. Whilst the staff are lovely they are just too busy to give great service. There seems to be an issue with getting water at the table, we had to ask 3 times last night before we got it.....we were having wine as well. We were not asked if we wanted more drinks we had to try and grab one of the staff as they rushed by. Again the girls are lovely but they are just too busy to give great service. The other issue is the noise level, we could not hear each other speaking and it has been like that on previous visits too, we were talking to other customers out the front after paying the bill and they said the same. They love the food and the venue but won't be back as it's not great trying to catch up with friends and you can't hear each other. The service issue will be an easy fix, management please hire some more wait staff! Not sure if the acoustic issue can be resolved though. Try Madam Viet the food is great and it is new so hopefully the service will improve.

Date night was a success. This place was a perfect chance for my wife and I to enjoy some quality food and wine in a great space. 5 courses for $59 was amazing value and the selection was enough to make the choices difficult. We added a dessert because you can on date night. Wine selection was also decent and matched to our food. Book in advance as this place was heaving.

Living locally to Madam Viet I was intrigued to see why this restaurant was consistently busy. Loving vietnamese food with regular travels to Springvale with my family we were happy to try the new local resteraunt. The share plates tasted amazing but there was nothing to share. The main course was restricted to soup or curry which is not a Vietnamese favourite in our family. Next time it's back to Springvale where there is a variety of menu options and adequate serving portions.

We went out for a birthday celebration, having previously booked online for the second sitting which starts 8:30ish.It was fully booked so there weren't any vacant tables. Due to many hard services, it was a little bit noisy, nothing too uncomfortable though.The food was sensational, as was the service. I would not hesitate in recommending this to anybody wanting something a little different and just a little up, market without appearing stuffy.We will be back.
