I loved it! I couldn't personally eat the good things since I recently had an operation, but all the others in my party said everything was wonderful and tasty. the owner personally brought me a mug of the gumbo with a lot of broth so that I could have that and not even asked me. I thought that was very thoughtful. definitely recommend and hope again if I can eat more!
So we park on the road and go out of the car that man goes to his car starts to tell us how big that is eating and how full it is. then tells us “ naw, it’s my place. I am the owner.” we spend about 30-40 minutes talking to john and become friends right away. on the veranda of everyone who comes out, wears dog bags and stops telling him how wonderful it was eating. he spoke to literally all who come and go as if he knew them all of his life. cut to eat. fried chicken was amazing. everything was fresh. not from a dose. green beans, mais, kartoffelbrei. and salat! yummy! and the best brotpudding since sno. the atmosphere is so welcoming and secret I felt as if I should help clean the tables as well as at home. I recommend this place definitiw.
What an awesome experience! The ambiance was charming and quaint in a beautiful old Beaumont houseThe owner was extremely friendly and engaging.
I've been here three times and every time the food is served it's lukewarm at best.
Played the game of "find a restaurant on Yelp" while driving to New Orleans from Texas and stumbled on this gem.
