Out of the 7 people that ordered food at our table, only 2 of them received a decent meal. 3 of us chose a menu which included a steak tartare and a tartare du tomate et basilic. The steak tartare was plain ground beef, no seasoning, pickles, etc. The tartare du tomate et basilic was a tomato cut into slices, also without any kind of additional flavours: definitely not the way a tomato tartare should be. The dessert for this menu was a sort of apricot pie, which was clearly heated in the microwave, causing it to be very spongy and nauseating. 1 of us ordered the salmon, which was cold when she received it. She told the waitress that the salmon was cold, so the plate was taken to the kitchen. When the waitress came back, not only the salmon, but the whole plate was really hot: the whole meal had clearly been heated up in the microwave as well. The last girl at our table ordered the pavé de boeuf, which was actually pretty okay. However, she had to wait for 30 minutes, even when we already had all our dishes, and when she finally received her food, her fries were still half frozen. We had so many disappointments that we felt we had to tell the waiting staff upon leaving. We explained that the service was nice, but the food was just terrible. The lady chef came to see us and did not want to understand our side of the story. In fact, she got angry at us and told us that we were wrong. It's a pity for the friendly waitresses, but I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone, it really is a waste of your money.
After searching the entire area for breakfast for a family of 14...this place rescued us. It was just after they had packed it all away so true customer service! And breakfast was lovely also. Restaurant was clean...if the hotel is the same as the resturant I would certainly recommend it. Thanks guys
On our way home we stayed at the Premiere Classe hotel in Beaune which doesn't provide meals. Therefore we went to the Kyriad on the opposite side of the street. The food was fine, but the wine was not to our taste. We told the chef immediately that we thought the wine a disappointment. It cost 20 euro for 50 cl....we have had far better wines the passed three weeks for less money. The biggest disappointment was the chef himself. We didn't drink the wine but he still charged us the full amount. He said he was sorry but the wine was perfectly allright so he couldn't make a gesture. Now we are not fluent in French and he spoke hardly any English this didn't help much. We paid the bill and left, never to return. And for the wine: don't order it, especially not de Hautes Côtes de Beaune 2008 they sell.
