Prospector Pub - Rock Creek Hotel

If you are travelling this way it's nothing but a treat to sit out on the deck. With the river running by and the well worn patina the place has, topped off by pleasant staff, locals and tasty pub fare - you'll sink into the moment for a bit.

New owners at the Hotel. From the outside its deceiving. You need to stop and enjoy the back deck overlooking the river, food and staff. In the past 10 years we have made it a stop whenever in the region. Its weathered and shows its years. But this is a gem still standing with owners committed. One day these places will be long gone and only memories will be left. As one of the original & oldest drinking establishments in BC the drive is on what was once part of the Dewdny Trail. Do yourself a favor and stop, relax and enjoy. Be thankful we have entrepreneurs still dreaming and working hard following their hearts with their cash and good will.

We are staying in the area for a couple of days, went down to the Prospector for a beverage and a meal at 4:00 pm, sat for ten minutes on the deck, no one even acknowledged we were there, plates were served to the table next to us, but not even a glance our way. We've been coming this way for 30 years, this was a first but seeing as it just went through foreclosure the past may repeat itself...

This is an old pub and it shows its Olde world charm.If you want a plastic Montana or Keg experience,don't call here. The charm here is that it's different and old.The patio overlooks the river,close enough to fish from.The food was pub/bar food which is what you would expect from one of the oldest bars in BC,great taste and reasonable in price.The owner was somewhat a character ,all the staff were friendly.If you are a stuck up snob this is not the place for you so don't stop and give a negative review,,it's down to earth and full of history.Excellent.

My husband and I went to the Prospector Pub for dinner, we were quite charmed with the place, nice renovations but in keeping with the character. The food was very good. My husband had a double burger topped with an egg, it was huge and really good. Burgers made fresh. The customers and owners were all very friendly, would recommend anyone going to the Prospector Pub, great place.
